My Costume

I do not have time to get the aluminum so I am changing my costume to some hiking boots, some blue Jeans, and some shades. My shirt will be a casual shirt.

Steps for my Picture

  • I will first start by making a mental sketch of what I want my hero to look like.
  • I need to use some plates of metal but since I can not easily get that much metal I will need aluminum to cover my body with it.
  • Then I need to get a camera to take the picture. The school will provide one.
  • I will get the permission to use all that aluminum and find a good area to take my picture.
  • I will then edit my picture using or Photoshop 6 I will add some effects and then make my superhero more realistic. That way my hero will be given a dramatic effect.

Corrections

For my picture I didn't put the real size of my paper or frame. On my Superhero explanation I didn't actually tell an example about my humor.

The Importance of Natural Disasters

Natural Disasters cause many terrible deaths and disembodiements. The Natural disaster could cost millions or billions of dollars to homes and companies. If it is in a hot spot for Natural Disasters the technology there would be permanantly affected. The Natural Disasters could cause damage to the environment making it difficult to breath and kill many more people. The smoke from a volcano could kill as if there were no trees.

Natural Disasters from EBSCO

Tsunamis can kill more than 10000 people. Monsoons are around India during June and Septmber. When it doesn't rain over a long period of time there is a drought. (Graf )

Krakatau fom Devastation!

I decided to speak of Krakatoa because I haven't explained anything about volcanoes even though they are some of the most dangerous natural disasters there are. Houses were totally destroyed. Even the island started destroying itself. Eventually it made a new island but killed 36,000 people. There was also a huge involvement of tsunamis due to the volcanoes effect. (Newson 24-25)

Natural Disasters from Tan Kin Lian's Blog

A natural disaster is a mix of natural dangers and of human interaction with the environment. They lead to human, financial, and structural losses. It normally depends on the populations ability to resist the disaster. (Lian )

Natural Disasters from dotars.gov

It basically explains mostly information about specific natural disasters. It talks about the floods, bushfires, and cyclones that happen in Australia. Scientists say that a lot more cyclones are expected in the future. This is only information on natural disasters from Australia so the site is a little vague. The Australian govornment has a lot of involvement in their problem. (dotars.gov)

Guiding Questions to Solving Natural Disasters

1.
What is the Damage that could be caused by Natural Disasters?
This question is a guiding question because if I know what the damage is I could explain how peoples lives are affected.
2. How do natural disasters effect the lives of the unfortunate?
This is a guiding questions because the answer explains the ways I could help people after the natural disaster is over. I could heal people before they get hurt.
3. What would be a way to stop a natural disaster?
This is a guiding question because it makes me take into consideration what my hero's powers must be.
4. How would this help with advancements in technology?
It would help with technology for 2 reasons. First of all they would not have any work destroyed. Second of all it would be safer to test Disaster detecting machines.
5. Would I be rewarded for helping?
Some people would very happily award this but the basic point of me helping would be for science and for people's lives.

My Hero's Problem

Natural Disasters

After a lot of thought I decided my hero would be able to stop natural disasters. The importance of the problem is that natural disasters happen every day and they cause multiple deaths and destroy homes. I have planned out my hero to be able to stop anything that nature shoots at him. Possibly his archenemy would be able to cause natural disasters.

My Superhero

In technology class we were given an assignment to create a superhero, think of what his suit would look like, and think of the real life problem that he could solve.

I decided my superhero's name would be the shockwave. His superpower I decided would be the ability to move objects at will by just the thought of it or with a movement of the hands as if he were really carrying it.(Some people would call this psychic and others would call it gravity control) I thought maybe his suit would just be an entire silver suit that surrounds his body totally and strengthens his powers.

The Problem

There are multiple problems I can think that the shocker could solve. One of the problems would be helping the starving poor people. He could use his power to through large amounts of food in the air. Another problem he could solve is villains while they are attempting a robbery, he could use his powers to hold him useless and take his weapons. The problem I think is the most important for the shockwave to stop is natural disaster damage. He could use his powers to actually stop the disasters mbefore they can hurt anyone.

MYP Technology Design Cycle

Investigate

First you have to know what the problem is. You need to know what you are going to do and what the importance is. In the end we should know how to discucuss appropriate questions, Identify appropriate sources, organize and evaluate the information and the sources. We should make a design specification.List the requirements and design tests.

Plan

To design the product we shouldgenerate many feasible design that meet the standards. We should evaluate the design and justify its choice. To plan the product we should construct a plan with logical steps. To make effective use of time and justify the plan.

Create

To create we have to use appropriate techniques competently and ensure that the others have a safe environment. We should follow the plan to get the product. We should make changes to the plan if we notice a problem. In the end we should have a product of appropriate quality.

Evaluate

To evaluate the product we must carry out tests and evaluate the success of the product based on testing. We must check the impact on the society. In the end we should check how it could've been improved. We should check how we used the design cycle including every stage and know ways that it could've improved.

Attitudes in Technology

This step in the design cycle is not really related to technology it is actually to incourage the student's personality and respect to the other students. During the course we should use our materials safely and with responsibility. We should work like a team and support others. We should show evidence that we are really participating in the subject.

The Secondary School Computer use Policy

I have been asked to post a blog on The Secondary School Computer use Policy. I have to take 5 of the rules from the Computer use Policy and explain their importance.

3. It is school policy that the use of copyrighted material from the Internet must be duly credited. Not to do this is plagarism and will be subject to disciplanary action.

Importance : the use of other materials without giving credit could get you arrested or sewed. Being a child means that the school will be sewed and they will have to expell you.

8.Students may not use the computers to produce documents that could make fun of others, or illegal documents. ( for example, fake IDs )

Importance: a small document like that could make people believe that you are a racist school or area and cause a war and the school would be blamed for any of the illegal documents you have created.

9. Users may not execute any program that is not liscenced to the school and part of the package installed by CIC personnel.

Importance: This goes against the copyright laws and some of those programs could be inappropriate for the students.

11. It is prohibited for users to access pornographic, hate, violence, or hacker sites.

Importance: These types of sites can cause a child to get thoughts in their heads that could affect the way they react.

15. Users may not purposefully harm or destroy any equipment or data on the network.

Importance: Destroying that equipment could be very expensive for the school to fix and would cause the CIC pesonnel a lot of work and trouble.

Natural Disasters

Approaches To Learning

This is Approaches to learning because the technology and schools will be saved giving people more opportunities to learn or I could tell them about the disasters.

Community and Service

It will be Community and Service because I will Save the lives of anyone that belongs to the Community or Natural Disaster Zones.

Homo Faber

It will be Homo Faber because I will be protecting the technology in the area
